News From Trinidad & Tobago
USGTF Level IV member Ricky Campbell recently had the opportunity to meet with 4-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson in Trinidad & Tobago. Johnson was in the country along with his director of performance, Lance Walker, to assist coaches of all disciplines to help their athletes reach their goals and achieve new levels of performance.
According to Campbell, some of the most valued advice from Johnson and Walker involved having young athletes play a variety of sports in order to assess their strengths and weaknesses. Campbell remarked, “Using his methods, I have seen success and improvement in my students. It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Johnson; he is a humble person.”
Campbell, a member of the USGTF Hall of Fame, also serves as his country’s official golf ambassador, as appointed by the Trinidad & Tobago Golf Association.
