Magic Kingdom to Host 2015 World Golf Teachers Cup

disney1Normally if you play a “Mickey Mouse” course, it’s not the best endorsement of that layout. The exception is if you play on the fine golf courses at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and that is precisely where the 20th annual United States Golf Teachers Cup and the 12th biennial World Golf Teachers Cup will be played this coming October 13-16. Disney’s famed Palm and Magnolia courses will serve as the host venues for these great events.

The US Cup, the national championship event of the USGTF, will be played the first two days, followed by the World Cup, which consists of concurrent individual and team play. Five divisions will be contested: Open, Ladies, Senior (50+), Super Senior (60+), and Legends (70+).

• Seniors & Super Seniors will receive a 10-yard break per hole
• Ladies will play from approximately 80% of the Open yardage
• Legends will play from approximately 6,000 yards
• Those in the Open, Ladies, Senior, and Super Senior divisions are eligible for overall individual honors as well as being eligible to play in the World Cup team event.

The event is open to all WGTF Certified Golf Teaching Professionals (formerly Level III) and Master Golf Teaching Professionals (formerly Level IV), each of whom may sign up at any time prior to the deadline. Associate Members (formerly Level II) may sign up beginning September 1.

The field is limited to 144 players, and in the event both tournaments are sold out prior to the deadline, those wishing to play will be placed on an alternates list. A limited number of spots are available for those who wish to play in the US or World Cup only for $450.00. Please contact the USGTF office directly for these registrations.

disney4The Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort, adjacent to Downtown Disney (soon to be renamed Disney Springs), will serve as the recommended host hotel with a rate of $79 plus tax from October 11-16. This rate is good through September 11, after which the rate will be based on availability.

To book, please call 407-828-2424 or use the tournament website www.WorldGolfTeachersCup.com. Use code USGTF to get the special rate. Practice rounds are available 14 days prior to the tournament at a rate of $50 plus tax after 11:00 a.m. To schedule, call (407) 939-4653.
