Golf and the Wellness Industry
“Golf” and “wellness” together can help mold the future lifestyles of corporate employees all over the world. Being a member of the USGTF or the WGTF can make you eligible to receive a golf wellness teaching certificate for corporate golf from Corporate Golf Wellness. This will allow you access into wellness departments of companies all over the world.
With over 15 years of experience teaching golf to employees, we have made the sport of golf an accepted wellness activity. In today’s political scene, wellness is being promoted as a major solution for keeping health care costs in line for the future. Mike McCalister, CEO of Humana, says, “Golf is a great sport for your own well-being and fitness, as well as a way to do things with your family.”
Corporations of all sizes today are creating and expanding wellness departments to keep health care costs down and help their employees live longer and healthier lives. Natures Pathways magazine says, “Showing people we genuinely care about them in general, let alone as employers, is truly the greatest gift/ perk that you can offer any employee.” They talk about how assigning golf teaching professionals is a key to the consistent practice of their wellness program. These teaching pros are different than HR specialists; they are there as a resource for motivation and learning. Building a rapport with a trusted golf teacher will be the difference to the success or lack thereof of your wellness program.
New wellness products we have added to our line make us more involved in the overall health of our students, like our BugX wristbands for insect protection, and Golfers Skin sun protection (now #1 on the Tour) for skin protection. All your students should be using these products when exposed to the elements.
We have added healthy nutritional products to help all our golfers. First is a golfer’s drink that becomes a replacement meal for those on the run. My teaching schedule normally doesn’t allow me a healthy lunch. Now I have a healthy nutritional shake, which mixes easily with a 12-ounce bottle of 1% low fat milk, and I don’t feel hungry until dinner. Second is a golfer’s portable energy drink for that mid-afternoon boost we all need. This drink is made for golfers, because it doesn’t contain all the caffeine and sugar which make us jittery. Last is a healthy cookie snack made from nutrients and proteins to sustain energy levels. These items have proven to be healthy for golf instructors – and students!
For your corporate golf training rooms, and student’s home use, we have secured the corporate sales rights to some new products. First is The Extra 20 Yards, an unobtrusive home golf gym which was designed to train your golf muscles. This weighted pulley system will increase swing speed, teach the correct swing plane, increase lag, and teach the proper sequence for the downswing. It only requires short five-minute workouts five times per week to learn the correct feeling.
Second, we have the Swing Box, which allows you to take a full swing at home. It offers golfers a compact, lightweight, innovative home hitting solution. No need for extra golf balls; it returns your ball to you, plus it gives audio and visual feedback from your shot. Now, your students can practice at home without a bulky golf net that requires a lot of space.
Third, we have the best putting machine on the market, The Pendulum Perfect System. This unit creates a perfect stroke, using the arc method or the straight path. Using muscle memory training, it works with standard, long, and belly putters. This unit is totally adjustable for right hand, left hand, all heights, all angles, along with forward shaft lean. You can make every putt if done right!
All our new golf items can be sold to students, or to our corporate customers for their golf training rooms. Add any of these units to a golf room with netting and putting green, and maybe a sand bunker, and you’ll have a great practice area. Go to our website at www.CorporateGolfWellness.net to see any of these training and wellness items. The time to get involved with corporate wellness could not be better. It is, and will be, a big part of a company’s agenda to reduce overall health care costs and promote healthy activities for the employee and his/ her family.
